From what I've read and discussed with others, the Z2 is an RS3. I feel the Z1 is a better fit for this area.

Can you explain alittle more Eric?? Do you mean like our area being cooler temps and more rain than most?? I can see by the looks of the ZII that it looks more dry weather but the numbers look like it doesnt loose out in the rain.

I really could use some advice and in depth training what to look for in a race street tire.

Drew, you're better off asking Logan for advice and training in street tires honestlly. I personally am looking at contingency and yearly performance. Hence why we're running my rs3s and if cold/wet nicks z1s. Logan probably knows more overall on this, while I am class/case specific.

From the research I've done, not personal experience, each tire has it's place. On a hot day, an RS3 will supposedly out perform the others. On cooler days, the star spec is better and has better wet performance. Best Wet performance goes to the kumho mx. Toyo's are only suited for light weight cars like miatas.

For our events, i think the star spec is best because it is the most well rounded. At least that's my opinion.

I guess the biggest question is how much did they improve the new ZII and what did they hurt by improving it. I hope they do a test between their new tire and the old one. I watched the video but you know alitle more in detail.

Thank you Eric and Logan for sharing some knowledge. Tires are a huge deal in AutoX. I remember Lance Dunn having his Hankook V12's last season and thought they looked great but Lance said that the sidewall was weak and felxed easy. Just something you dont know without experience.
